Air Conditioning

Allred Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd. knows that Air Conditioning is an essential comfort product chosen by homeowners. Getting that refreshing feeling when you walk into your home on those hot summer days is like a new start to the day. Air Conditioning can help you to sleep better at night, help keep you healthier, and provide your whole family with a space you can enjoy. With warranties such as a 10 year compressor, 5 year functional part manufacturer and limited 2 year labor by Allred Heating and Air Conditioning, you will know your purchase will last for a long time.

Air Conditioning is a process of transferring heat from one place to another. With a split system Air Conditioner we place an evaporator coil in the furnace ductwork and a condensing coil outside. The air from inside the house moves through the evaporator coil which collects the heat and then transfers that heat to the outside where the condenser coil releases the heat to the outside, making the indoor air cooler. With this process we can maintain a level of comfort ideal for every home through out the hot summer months.

How to choose an Air Conditioner

A new, high efficiency, central air conditioning system can provide a significant energy savings over older systems as well as increase comfort during the hot, sticky months of summer.

When considering the different options available in a new central air conditioning system, the SEER rating will explain the different efficiencies for each model.

SEER Rating: The SEER rating (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) is a similar type of rating system as is used to measure the energy efficiency of a furnace. Typical SEER ratings range between 10-19 SEER for new air conditioners. The higher the SEER rating, the greater the energy efficiency. Currently, the Government mandates a minimum of a 13 SEER rating for air conditioners.

Many older homes have central air conditioning systems that are operating at a SEER rating of 6 or below. By replacing an older central air conditioning system with a new high efficiency system, homeowners can reduce energy bills by up to 50% during the summer months.

The Summer/Fall season is a great time to purchase new air conditioning or replace old, inefficient units.

Most air conditioners last between 15-20 years, so the investment you make today will be one that will continue to produce a comfort you expect from your home central Air Conditioning.

Although choosing a new central air conditioning system can seem challenging, remember to always compare systems with the same options and make sure that you are working with a reputable company.
